Frequently Asked Questions About PHP
How long does PHP last?
Most clients participate in PHP for two to six weeks. The length of stay is determined by individual clinical progress, not by a fixed calendar. Some clients with more complex needs may continue for up to eight weeks.
Do I need to have gone through detox first?
If you are still in active withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, or other substances, medical detox is typically required before starting PHP. Our admissions team can connect you with a trusted local detox provider and coordinate your direct transfer into our program once you are medically stable.
Will my employer know I am in PHP?
No. Your participation in our program is protected by HIPAA. We do not share any information about your treatment without your written consent. If you need documentation for FMLA leave, our team can provide the appropriate forms without disclosing your diagnosis.
Can I bring my phone or laptop?
Yes. Because PHP is an outpatient program, you return home each evening and are not restricted from personal devices. During programming hours, we ask that phones are silenced to support the therapeutic environment.
What happens after PHP?
Most clients step down to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which meets three to five days per week for three hours each day and allows for greater integration of work, family, and daily responsibilities. After IOP, we assist with aftercare planning including ongoing outpatient therapy, peer support, and community resources.
Is PHP covered by insurance?
Most commercial insurance plans, employer-sponsored plans, and PPO policies cover PHP. Coverage varies by plan. Our admissions team verifies your benefits before your start date so there are no surprises.
These FAQs aim to provide you with valuable insights into IOP programs, helping you make informed decisions about your mental health treatment options. If you have more specific questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to the program administrators for guidance and clarification.

What Our Clients Are Saying:
Conditions We Treat
Substance Use & Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment
Co-Occurring Disorders
Mental health and substance use are often interconnected. Mental Health issues may be precipitated by use of drugs and alcohol or may lead to addiction to substances or compulsive processes. They often develop to self-medicate overwhelming thoughts and emotions.
Substance Use Treatment
Substance Use Disorders are progressive and most often lead to impairment in a client’s lifestyle. Process Disorders, similar to substance use, may also become addicting to the level of interfering with activities of daily living.
